St. Bernard Parish was completely devastated during Hurricane Katrina. People and their pets were dispersed across the country. The animal shelter computers were ruined, but we were able to salvage their pet data from their hard drives.

If you are currently in possession of a displaced pet from the area , with a microchip that was not registered, license tag, or some other identifier such as a tattoo, you can use this page to search if that pet is in the database of licenses, microchips and tattoos. If the search returns a pet that you believe is in this database email katrinapets@islandbusinessgroup.com (PLEASE PUT ID INQUIRY IN THE SUBJECT LINE).

This database may not be complete, additional data will be added as it is received. Check back again if your search does not return a pet.

We have been told that if you have a pet in your possession and have a name and/or address of it's owner SEND A POSTCARD OR LETTER TO THAT ADDRESS, MAIL IS BEING FORWARDED AND THIS IS HELPING REUNITE PETS AND PEOPLE.
